Have old skirts that don't fit quite right?

All I did was open the neck line of this great t-shirt my brother-in-law bought me, by cutting it.

The skit was originally an a-line skirt that fit around my waist...

I sewed up the sides to make it a high waisted pencil skirt and added this red belt..
