Shine

I'v been in sessions with a life couch, which has been a blessing.
She knows just the right questions and every sessions with her unearths new things.
She gave me this to read:

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

—Marianne Williamson

We began to discuss my strengths and weaknesses, and to be honest I easily can focus only on what i'm not "enough" in. This is when she gently but sternly said: Ashley it is time for you to shine!!!!
The power goes out.
We both giggle in the silence and darkness.
She says it again: It is time for you to shine!!!
The power comes back on.
It's not a coincidence. I don't believe in those.
I believe in divine moments that are sent to awaken us.

So how do I live out shining? How do you?
By not down playing whats good and beautiful about us for a start.
If you don't know, then start there...

Here are some questions to journal about:
-What can I do to feel more powerful right now?
-What do your friends ask you to help them with?
-What part of myself do I wish to experience now?

I am learning to make choices that nourish my heart and therefore allow me to be BIG in this world.
Because playing small serves no one.
But being deeply me is a gift.
Wouldn't you want those around you to be genuinely them? Start by calling it forth in yourself.

Somebody is 4 and all grown up.

To the little man who won my heart and made me want all kinds of little ones running around my feet.
To the little man who made me believe in miracles and God's love when everything seemed hopeless.
To the little guy who calls a turtle a tortuous and who is already suave with the ladies.
Happy birthday.

Gluten free bread pudding.

Tonight I made bread pudding.
It's yeast, dairy and gluten free.
I worked my magic and mom and I enjoyed every bite of it and sissy enjoyed the milk.

3 eggs 1/3 cup of sugar 1 cup of milk cinnamon 1 tea spoon of vanilla extract. (I put a bit more) 6 slices of bread...
I bought gluten, rice and yeast free bread the brand is: Brick oven baked.. I'v had about 20 different gluten free and yeast free breads this one is the best so far.. Directions:
Cut bread into small chunks put in glass oven safe bow. Pour mixture of (Vanilla, sugar, milk and eggs) over bread and then sprinkle cinnamon generously over the bread and mix. Bake at 350 for 45min... P.s. It tasted so much better with carmel on it! :)

Little Slices of Life.

Daddy is one year older today and his hearts desire was to walk in the woods of Williamsburg.
So this is what we did. Our whole family sauntering through the woods.
Yes I know i'm crazy. I let the two year old use my camera.
She is a photographer in the making.
She loves to wear sun glasses this way. I embraced it with some photo's.
Little bits of sunshine I found on our walk for daddy's birthday.
 Santa in May?
My favorite tiramisu ever. I try it everywhere and time and time again this one wins,
An end to my Daddy's birthday.
My computer died and I didn't have a tv.
So I spent the night reading and writing and being alone with my own thoughts.
 Fizzy apple cider...
Self portrait... My night alone at the beach.

Slices of Life

I had Ethan collect as many buttercups as he could to keep him busy at the park.
We had a hard time choosing. In the end the cream won out!
Gabriele and I explored the attic antiques and got chai's at Posha's.
I wish it said Big Meadow. Because this is one of my very favorite places!
I bought a huge stack of vintage magazines that I am enjoying.
 Off to Life Couching.
We went out for a family lunch and I liked this lil boat.
 Look at her eyes!
Turkish Coffee with Christina.

Bits and Bobs

Monday night's are time with my tribe of girls.
Italian soda's and journaling.
Looking for inspiration and found it particularly in "Painted Pages"
I can't wait to buy it.
I took myself on a date and ate Nutella crepe's and espresso.
 Berry tea momma made me.
Making art in a thunderstorm.
